THE cast of a brand new production by an Aberystwyth-based theatre company and an author from the town has been announced.

The Cambrian News reported “Rehearsals for Arad Goch’s upcoming tour of author Meleri Wyn James’ Na Nel! Wwww! are underway, with actress Nia Ann taking on the title role.

The show is based upon a brand new story written by Meleri, author of the popular Na Nel children’s books.

A mixture of new and familiar Arad Goch faces will make up the cast, with Nia (Cerdyn Post o Wlad y Rwla, SXTO) taking the role of Wales’ most mischievous girl, Nel.

Nia has performed many times with Arad Goch, and recently worked with Disney in Paris as part of their 25-year anniversary celebrations.

“It’s a pleasure to be returning to work with Arad Goch again, and I’m looking forward to playing a character as mischievous as Nel!” she said of her new role.

Joining Nia as Nel’s friends are Tomos Wyn from Llanrwst and Miriam Isaac from Cowbridge. This is the first time for both of them to work for Arad Goch.

Tomos graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2016 and in January played the part of Surly in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Cardiff’s New Theatre.

Miriam is currently presenting S4C’s children’s TV show, TAG, and also recently played the part of Jools on the series Anita. This is her first professional theatre job after years of presenting and acting on television.

Na Nel! Wwww! opens in Theatr Felinfach on 15 May and will visit other theatres in Wales” here.
