A “fantastic husband and a brilliant father” who was killed in a car crash died doing the job he loved.
Wales Online reported “Roy Evans, who was 55, worked for Ceredigion council and was driving a council vehicle when he crashed on Friday afternoon on the outskirts of Aberystwyth .
The one-vehicle crash happened at around 1pm on Friday in Primrose Hill in the village of Llanbadarn Fawr in Ceredigion .
He was flown to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth following the incident but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
His family said they were “devastated” by the loss of Mr Evans, who had worked for Ceredigion council for more than 25 years.
In a statement his family said: “Roy was liked and loved by a lot of people.
“As a family we are devastated. We’d like to thank Pc 322 Mason and PCSO 8018 for their support. We’d also like to thank our neighbours and friends for all the support they are giving us.
“A special thank you to the staff at Bronglais Hospital and the air ambulance for trying to save our Roy.
“He was a fantastic husband and a brilliant father and a loving friend. He will be missed”
Mr Evans worked as part of Ceredigion council’s highways and environmental services department and authority chief executive Eifion Evans also paid tribute to a man who served the authority for more than a quarter of a century.
