MIND Aberystwyth’s mindfulness garden for the community has received a facelift thanks to a £500 grant from Marks and Spencer’s Sparks programme.
The Cambrian News reported “Staff from Mind and the M&S Aberystwyth store teamed up on Tuesday, 6 June, to prune, clear, plant and rake the garden. Bird boxes were installed at the site as well as new railing posts and planters.
Mind Aberystwyth has been chosen as the charity partner of the year for Marks and Spencer in the town.
Wendy Shaw of Mind Aberystwyth said: “Ecotherapy has a role to play in mental wellness, and our mindfulness garden is an important community resource. We’re delighted to be working with Marks and Spencer to make it better than ever.
“We’re particularly grateful to the staff of Marks and Spencer who gave up their time to come and work on the garden.
“The Marks and Spencer team had a fantastic work ethic.
Chris Bentley, Aberystwyth M&S store manager, said they were “delighted” to work with Mind to regenerate the garden.
“Working with the local community is one of our clear strategies this year and are delighted to help Mind Aberystwyth,” he said” here.
