AN Aberystwyth charity joined forces with YouTube gardening sensation Huw Richards for a special gardening demonstration.

The Cambrian News reported “Huw from Llangeitho, who has more than 80,000 YouTube subscribers, showed how to grow pea shoots at the event organised at Waunfawr Community Hall by Mirus, a charity which supports children and adults with learning or physical disabilities or mental health issues.

The event was organised as part of Mirus’ Better Together programme which is hosting a range of events for the people the charity works with.

Sally Bathurst, the charity’s area manager, said: “Mirus Ceredigion Better Together is a regular event where people supported, their family, friends and professionals get together, tell us what they think and we all work together on shaping our future plans.

“This time around our theme was ‘April showers, bring May flowers’ to contextualise the great progress everyone has made over the year and linked it to growing.

“We have now secured a new office which is named Ty Gwydr, meaning Greenhouse.

“YouTube blogger and keen gardener Huw Richards joined us and demonstrated how we can grow pea shoots at home – they are delicious to eat too.

“He got us all inspired to grow our own.

“The event was very successful and everyone really enjoyed it.”

Huw became an internet sensation after his series of gardening videos went viral when he was a teenager” here.
