A REVIEW of events and festivals in Ceredigion that make a valuable contribution to communities and the local economy is being carried out.

Cambrian News reported “In order to develop quality and authentic experiences for visitors and local residents, the Ceredigion and the Dyfi Biosphere Destination Partnerships will undertake a review of the area’s existing events with a view to identifying those that have the capacity and desire to grow and to attract additional audiences.

The aim is to create a varied and sustainable portfolio of quality events that will deliver a long-term economic, social and cultural legacy.

The review, funded by the Welsh Government’s Regional Tourism Engagement Fund, will be undertaken by Wavehill Research of Aberaeron.

Cllr Gareth Lloyd, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet member and spokesperson for the Ceredigion Destination Partnership, said: “Events can capture the imagination of visitors and residents by delivering a true sense of place. Events can provide significant economic benefits by enhancing the profile of the area as a tourism destination, and can also influence visitors’ perceptions of the area and delivering a portfolio of quality events will help us achieve this” here.
