A SPONSORED swim has raised more than £7,000 for Blood Bikes Wales.

The Cambrian News reported “Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth, hosted the event on Saturday, 14 October, organised by independent swimming instructor Martienus Thomas.

Seventy-seven swimmers covered a distance of 400 metres each and a magnificent grand total of £7,200 was raised for Blood Bikes Wales.

Martienus would like to thank all of the brave swimmers, the dedicated volunteers, families and friends for their support in making the 400m swim a fantastic success.

Since the sponsored 400m swims began, the children – 1,001 individual swimmers – have raised £53,607.90 for 12 charities.

Martienus and Blood Bikes Wales would like to thank everyone for making the 2017 event such a huge success” here.
