MONEY raised by Ceredigion council’s controversial council tax premium on second homes will not be allocated to community schemes for three years, it has emerged.

The Cambrian News reported “The council agreed to introduce the 25 per cent premium on second homes from April this year with the intention of raising additional money for community use.

But a council task and finish group has said it won’t be able to distribute that money for three years to town and community councils because of complications and a lack of Welsh Government guidelines.

The council said that any applications from town and community councils for the money would have to be lodged with the council before the end of that three-year period” here.
